How did it start?

Like many of you, I play indoor football. Every Friday a group of friends and I get together to play, blow off the week's stress and have a good time. Sounds simple, right?

The problem is that organising those matches is an absolute nightmare.

Every week looked the same: messaging the group chat "who's playing?", replying to people asking if there were spots left, chasing payments, manually tracking who owed what, and finally - drawing up line-ups in my head, trying to even out the teams somehow.

How many times have you heard "those teams were unfair!" after a match? I heard it every single time.

The "eureka" moment

As part of the 10xDev programme I had the chance to build a project of my own from scratch. I spent a long time wondering what to do - and that's when I thought of our Friday matches.

I needed something that would:

• Make collecting match sign-ups easy
• Automatically manage the waitlist (because someone always drops out at the last minute)
• Send notifications so I wouldn't have to remind everyone individually
• And most importantly - split us into fair teams

That's how SpinMyTeam was born.

What does SpinMyTeam do?

SpinMyTeam is an app that takes the entire logistical burden of running matches off the organiser's shoulders. You create a group, invite players, and from then on everything happens automatically:

• Players sign up themselves via a link
• Once the squad is full, additional players land on the waitlist
• When someone drops out, the next person automatically gets a notification
• Before the match you click "Spin teams" and the algorithm builds balanced line-ups

No more chaos. No more complaints about unfair line-ups. No more dozens of "hey, are you playing on Friday?" messages.

Why am I doing this?

Because I'm a user of this tool myself. Every feature you see here exists because I needed it. I'm not building a product for an imaginary "customer persona" - I'm building something I use every week.
